Kunstenaar Thomas Stothard
"Thomas Stothard was born in 1775 in England . He was a talented all-round artist whose best work was achieved in the early decades of the nineteenth century. Stothard was known as a painter, designer and book illustrator and he worked on a tremendous range of subjects, from jewellery to monuments. Many of his paintings were small-scale, sentimentalised works, but he completed a few major works, including the decoration of a staircase at Burghley House and of the upper hall of the Advocated Library in Edinburgh. His book illustrations featured mainly poetry and English novels, and in 1812 he also became the librarian of the Royal Academy. Many of his works are now held in the major British museums."
