Kunstenaar Charles Edward Perugini
"Born in 1839 in Naples, Charles Perugini was an extraordinarily-skilled genre and portrait painter. He came to London in 1863, where he met and married Kate, the daughter of Charles Dickens. He lived in London for many years and exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1863 as well as at the British Institution, the Society of British Artists in Suffolk Street, the New Gallery in Regent Street and at many other prestigious venues. His most famous images are depictions of romantic and elegant ladies, sometimes with a humorous theme."
